so did we just find out about the most adorable fossil of 2024 a little bit late no cuz that was definitely the mummified wolf pup but this has got to be a close second I dig dead stuff and this is dead stuff news meet pry luris ceni this tiny cat was found in the Hong dong caves which are usually known for early human remains and when I say tiny I mean tiny so far this is the smallest fossilized FID the paleontologists have found and only reached about 2 and a half pounds which is comparable to its modern relatives now this was alive roughly 300,000 years ago which is well before the domestication of cats but in my head Cannon I mean that's why it was there like it wasn't but also just just look at it I mean come on
