wait Jurassic parkks getting a prequel I sure hope not but dinosaurs are I dig dead stuff and this is dead stuff news the earliest known dinosaur fossils date back to just about 230 million years ago but researchers have always known that there have to be earlier species and specimens that just haven't been located yet recently University College London conducted a modeling study using dinosaur family trees the family trees of some of their closest relatives and geological surveys and established that most likely these missing fossils are located somewhere in low altitude gondwana which would be certain region of modern day South America and Africa this isn't exactly surprising but it's always good to have strong evidence pointing towards certain areas so that more research can be done in those areas I don't know about you but I'm excited to see what the earliest dinosaurs really looked like once these are discovered
